Notre Dame cross country to compete in big regional Catholic championship

Important event brings together athletics and faith in a major gathering of Midwestern schools. Notre Dame’s girls and boys cross country teams travel this weekend to Dayton, Ohio, for the 23rd annual Midwest Catholic Cross Country Championships (MCC), which will bring together more than 80 teams from five Midwest states. Soccer Goes 3-0, Takes Annual Tournament

The Notre Dame Boys Varsity Soccer team took their annual tournament with Flushing, Frankenmuth, and Birmingham Groves over the weekend, going 3-0 on the day.   The Irish started off the day with a 2-0 win over Flushing. Irish First Among DII Schools at OU Invite

Senior Brendan Fraser and Junior Niko Fraser both posted top times as the Notre Dame Boys Varsity Cross Country team took 4th place overall and 1st place among Division II schools at the Oakland University Golden Grizzly Invitational.  Brendan Fraser finished as the overall race winner with a 12:27 time in the 4K race. Lauren Neiheisel, Jenny Ohlsson, and Lexi Case also helped to lead the Girls Varsity team to a 6th place finish.  The Irish were also the top Division II school finisher among girls teams.

Irish Open Season With Convincing Win

The Notre Dame Varsity Football team jumped out to a big early lead and the defense made it stand up as the Irish opened up the 2016 season with a convincing 37-0 win over Redford Thurston.  After forcing a three-and-out on the Eagles’ opening possession junior quarterback Eli McLean, making his first varsity start, found Daniel Nemmert over the middle to put Notre Dame up 7-0 just 50 seconds into the game.  A Thurston fumble on their next play from scrimmage once again set the Irish up with great field […]

Irish Earn Sweep in Annual Quad

Notre Dame Varsity Volleyball improved to 6-1-1 on the year with victories over Oxford, Lake Orion and Avondale in a quad meet between the schools held for the 10th consecutive year. The Irish started play by defeating Oxford 25-19, 22-25, 25-18.  Junior middle hitter Gabrielle Shilling had 9 kills and a pair of aces.  Sophomore outside hitter Maria Famularo added 9 kills  while Maddy Chinn and Natalie Risi added 6 kills each.  Notre Dame then defeated Avondale in straight sets 25-12 and 25-13.
