In their first tournament of the season, the Notre Dame Boys Varsity Bowling team placed 24th at the Macomb Dakota Cougar Classic. Anthony Ghaith placed 3rd out of over 160 bowlers, bowling high games of 257 and 192 for a 449 high series. David Brouns bowled a high game 161 with Harley Collins rounding out with a 156.
The Girls Varsity team started out a bit slow, but picked things up in the second game by bowling a team series of 796. Theresa Carrier led the Irish, placing 6th in high series, bowling a school record 268 game. The Irish qualified for the first cut and were paired against the 4th place team Dakota. After a major upset against the higher seed Dakota, Notre Dame qualified in the top eight and took on the defending state champions Oxford Wildcats. The Irish dropped the first game by six pins and gave the Wildcats a run for their money. Oxford came back strong, finishing the second game with six strikes in a row to knock off the Irish and move to the final four.
