The NDP Boys Track and Field team competed at the Groves Invitational last Saturday, earning an 8th place finish amongst a field of 15 teams and drawing the praise of many in the process. Junior Nathan Mylenek was the meet’s champion in the 1600m run, pulling away from his nearest competitor on the final lap to finish first with a time of 4:31.33. Senior Ryan Obear just missed a medal in the 800m run, finishing 7th at 2:11.54. Senior Killian Kosik was 14th in the 400m dash (56.51), sophomore Brendan Fraser was 9th in the 1600m run (4:48.74), senior Eric Leduc was 10th in the shot put (38’9”) and 10th in the discus (115’9’), and sophomore Jean Paul Terzano was 9th in the discus (117’4”). The Irish also placed 3rd in the 4x800m relay with a team consisting of Obear, Fraser, Kosik, and Mylenek.
