Freshman Runners Compete at Oakland County Meet

A handful of Notre Dame freshman track athletes competed at the Freshman Oakland County Championships at Milford High School last Saturday.  

Freshman Jennifer Ohlsson competed in two events, the 1600m and the 3200m runs.  In the shorter distance, Ohlsson placed fourth in a personal best time of 5:27.40.  Ohlsson would follow that performance with a fifth place finish in the 3200m in 12:10.40.  Freshman Julia Mistretta would also compete in two events, placing 11th in the 100m dash with a personal record 13.40 and the 200m dash, achieving a personal record 28.08, good for 10th.   Freshman James Ohlsson raced in the 1600m run and recorded his own personal record with a 4:33.30 to place third.  In field events, freshmanGeordan Bolden placed sixth with a personal best jump of 17’ 5.5” while freshman Katherine Topoleski would throw the shot put 27’ 4.75” to place ninth and throw the discus 60’ to place 13th.
