Irish Compete at Golden Triangle, Divine Child Invites

The Notre Dame Boys and Girls Track teams sent runners to two events over the weekend as the Irish took part in the Saline Golden Triangle Invite as well as the Mark Carpenter Divine Child Invite.  

At the Golden Triangle, Lauren Neiheisel took 12th in the 800m with a time of 2:22.12 while John Pieper took 8th on the boys side in 1:59.47.  Neiheisel finished 7th in the mile (5:12.8) with Pieper earning a 16th place finish (4:22.78). Niko Fraser also earned a top placement, placing 13th in the two mile in a time of 9:24.83.  

Notre Dame also earned numerous top finishes at the Divine Child Invite.  Julia Mistretta took 15th in the 200m (28.50), Abby Rankin placed 12th in the 400m (67.44), and Alex Impellizzeri took 11th in the 300h in 45.75.  In the 800m, Lexi Case earned a 4th place finish in 2:23.47 while James Ohlsson placed 7th in 2:05.12.  Jennifer Ohlsson took 2nd in the 3200m with Eli Seitzinger coming in 8th.  Case (5:16.26) and James Ohlsson (4:28.57) both finished 1st in the 1600m with Jennifer Ohlsson (5:33.37, 5th) and Lexi Fraser 6:04.43, 15th) also providing top finishes.  

In field events, Destiney Sandle took second place in the shot put, Mya Fromwiller took first in the high jump and Maddie Scherle (7th), McKenna Dooley (12th), Dominic Mistretta (7th) and Reid Gaboury (12th) all placed in the long jump.  The Boys finished 11th overall at the meet (23 points) with the Girls coming in 5th (53 points).
