After starting off the 2015 season by going 5-0-1 and taking the West Bloomfield Invitational, Notre Dame encounted a bit of a setback at the annual Oxford Quad meet with Oxford, Grand Blanc, and Lake Orion as the Irish went 1-2. The first match pitted Notre Dame against host Oxford. The Irish took the first set 25-19 and held a 4-point lead in the second set, but could not hang on, falling 25-21. The third and deciding set saw several ties and lead changes before the Wildcats pulled away with a 15-13 win. Notre Dame rebounded from the opening match to defeat Grand Blanc a 25-12, 25-13. The Irish took early leads in both sets and never trailed in the match. In the final match Notre Dame took an early 10-2 lead over Lake Orion, only to see the Dragons go on a 14-2 run and take the opening set 25-23. Lake Orion, who finished 2014 ranked #4 in class A, would also take the second set 25-14 to come away with the victory. Offensively, the Irish were led by a pair of freshman, Maddie Chinn (17 kills and 5 blocks) and Natalie Risi (13 kills 3 blocks). Senior libero Emma Kowalkowski scored 17 service points on the evening as well. Notre Dame now sits at 6-2-1 on the year.
