The Notre Dame track teams participated in the Brighton Invitational, a non-scoring meet at Brighton High School. Medals were earned by the top six finishers in each event. Senior Claire Bolden had an outstanding day, earning a total of four medals. Bolden placed third in the 100m dash (13.29), second in the 200m dash (26.75), and second in the 400m dash (57.50). Bolden also ran with sophomore Maddie Scherle, senior Lauren Kavanagh, and sophomore Lauren Neiheisel in the 4x400m relay to earn fourth in 4:25.36. The 4x200m relay team consisting of freshman Katelyn Kozole, sophomore Destiny Sandle, freshman Paige Gollinger, and senior Caitlin Fitzgerald placed sixth in 1:57.67. On the boys side, senior Matthew Durkin earned a spot in the 200m dash final then finished fourth with a time of 23.43. Durkin combined with senior Chris Wardlow, senior Patrick O’Sullivan, and senior Patrick Anger in the 4x100m relay to nab fourth in 45.48. In the 1600m run, junior Brendan Fraser was sixth in 4:28.94. In the 4x800m relay, senior Aidan Schurig, senior Alex Leonowicz, Fraser, and senior Nathan Mylenek ran to a fourth place finish in 8:25.15. In field events, senior John Paul Terzano placed fifth in the discus with a toss of 123’ 5” and Anger was fourth in the long jump at 18’ 9”. Finally, in the throwers 4x100m co-ed relay, the team of Terzano, sophomore Jillian Karolski, senior Matthew Winarski, and senior Chanel Dore was second in a blazing 54.68.
