Leduc Sets Discus Record as Boys Finish 5th at River Rat Invite

The Notre Dame Boys Track and Field team finished 5th at the River Rat Invitational at Ann Arbor Huron High School. Senior Eric Leduc finished fourth in the discus.  Leduc’s toss of 138’3” breaks the NDP record by nearly a foot-and-a-half. Junior Nathan Mylenek won the 1600m run in a sizzling 4:19.39, continuing his season long unbeaten streak in the event.  Mylenek also joined seniors Ryan Obear and Joshua Fullerton and junior Aidan Schurig to win the 4x800m relay (8:23.53).  Others scoring points for the Irish were sophomore Brendan Fraser in the 3200m run (2nd, 10:01.52), senior Jermaine Johnson (7th, 52.81) and junior Luke Mullis (8th, 53.23) in the 400m dash, sophomore John Paul Terzano (121’8”) in the discus, and senior Logan Verheyen (5’7”) in the high jump. The boys also scored points in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays.  A team consisting of junior Chris Wardlow, junior Matt Durkin, senior Louis Pierite, and senior Jomia Pefok was 5th in the 4x100m in 45.64 and the 4x200m team of junior Brendan O’Sullivan, junior Aidan Grejda, junior Andrew Durkin, and junior Peter McNelis was 6th in 1:38.86.
