Notre Dame Falls in District Final

The Notre Dame Varsity Baseball season came to an end during MHSAA District play as the Irish fell to Armada 1-0 in the District Final after advancing past Richmond 9-1.

Notre Dame scored four times in the top of the first inning against Richmond, which was more than enough offense for starting pitcher River Shea.  Shea tossed six and two-thirds innings of one run baseball before giving way to Joe DePillo for the final out.

In the district final, Armada would score the lone run of the game in the top of the first innings following a walk and a double.  From that point forward Notre Dame's Jack Krausmann and Armada's Braden Korchmar would match zeros and keep both teams on the board.  The Irish would load the bases with two outs in the seventh innings but the Tigers would escape the jam with a strikeout to end the potential rally.

Notre Dame finishes the season at 27-7-2 and ranked #3 in the final MHSBCA poll.  The Irish graduate seniors Will Baldwin, Brian Blakeslee, Tommy Cavanaugh, Jack Crowe, DePillo, Josh Fischer, Jacob Genord and Ryan Knutson.
