Notre Dame went 3-1-1 at the Mount Morris Invitational to improve to 37-6-3 on the season. The Irish opened tournament play with a convincing 25-12, 25-12 win over Howell. Cassie Harris played a terrific match serving up 16 points, including 4 aces. Harris also added 8 digs. Natalie Risi and Morgan Verheyen each had 7 kills. Notre Dame prevailed over Bloomfield 25-16, 27-25 in the second match of the day. Kennedy Dorantes had 8 serving points(3 aces) and 16 digs. Risi also had 8 serving points and added 10 kills. Emma Kowalkowski had 17 digs. The Irish split with South Lyon in the final match of pool play, dropping the first set 25-23 and taking the second 25-15. Amanda Carty provided a spark for Notre Dame with 7 serving points (3 aces) and 8 digs. Gabby Shilling had 5 blocks, Maddy Chinn was the leader in kills with 5, and Kowalkowski added 11 digs. The Irish emerged out of pool play as the overall #2 seed and took on Frankenmuth to begin the elimination rounds. It took three sets, but the Irish came out on top 25-16, 17-25, 15-6. Harris was once again strong from behind the line with 9 points including 2 aces. Chinn had 7 kills and Kowalkowski was steady on defense with 21 digs. In what would turn out to be the final match of the day the Irish fell to Dewitt, who is ranked as a class A honorable mention, in straight sets 27-25, 25-23. Risi led the team with 7 kills while Jackie Lopez and Chinn each added 6 kills. Kowalkowski led the defense with 10 digs. Lauren Burnick had 91 assists throughout the tournament in her first starts of the season.
