Notre Dame Volleyball(24-2-2) defeated Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes and Farmington Hills Mercy to remain undefeated at home.
The Irish started off strong against the Lakers on their way to a 25-12, 25-7, 25-7 win. Maddy Chinn recorded 10 kills, 4 digs and 2 blocks for the Irish while Natalie Risi (5 kills, 6 digs), Gabi Shilling (4 kills) and Maria Famularo (10 digs) also had big games in the win.
The second match featured the #3 team in Class A (Mercy)and against the # 1 team in Class B (Notre Dame). In the first set there were 15 ties and leads until the Irish capitalized on a missed serve to take the lead for good on their way to a 25-21 victory. Notre Dame never trailed the rest of the night as they swept the next two sets 25-19 and 25-13. The Irish were led by Chinn who had 14 kills, 2 blocks, 8 serving points with 2 aces and 6 digs, Taylor Raiola with 7 kills, 4 blocks and 3 aces, and Risi with 8 kills, 2 blocks and 6 points including 2 aces. Lauren Burnick picked up a couple of blocks to go with her 25 assists. Defensive specialist Olivia Heming had 12 digs, 8 points service points 2 aces and Famularo served up 6 points (2 aces) and 9 digs.
