Runners Compete at Golden Triangle and New Balance Invites

The Notre Dame Boys and Girls Track teams split themselves up to compete at multiple meets last weekend as the Irish participated in the Golden Triangle, the New Balance Invitational, and the Raffin Relays (a freshman-sophomore meet at Holly High School).  

At the Golden Triangle, a renowned and highly competitive meet at Saline High School, junior Lauren Neiheisel placed 10th in the 800m run in 2:26.40 and 17th in the 1600m run in 5:22.07.  Junior Niko Fraser placed 28th in the 3200m run while establishing a new personal record in the distance by a whopping 13 seconds.

Senior Brendan Fraser made his return to the track for his first meaningful races of the season at the New Balance Invitational at Farmington High School.  Running in both the 800m and 1600m runs, Fraser finished 23rd (2:14.93) and 20th (4:41.74), respectively.  Senior Andrew Blocki raced to a 16th place finish in the 100m dash in 11.51, a new personal record, and 23rd in the 200m in 23.88.  Junior Alec Gaboury also competed in the 200m dash and finished 34th in 24.38.  Lastly, junior Destiny Sandle recorded a career best throw of 29’ 10” in the shot put.
