The Notre Dame Boys Swim team advanced to the MHSAA state finals in two relay and four individual events at the MHSAA preliminary meet held at Eastern Michigan University. The Irish started the day strong, receiving an 8th place finish (1:39.37) from the 200 medley relay team of Rudy Aguilar, Carl Wacker, Peter McNelis, and Aidan Schurig , good enough to advance Notre Dame to the final. The 200 freestyle relay of Schurig, McNelis, Thomas Robbins, and Aguilar also earned a trip to the state final, placing 7th with a time of 1:29.31. Aguilar qualified individually in both the 100 free (46.41) and 100 backstroke (53.28) placing 2nd and 6th respectively while Schurig qualified in the 50 and 100 free, earning times of 21.76 and 47.66 to place 6th in both events. Also competing at the meet for the Irish were the 400 free relay team of Zach Vogel, McNelis, Wacker, and Robbins (3:34.96), Wacker in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.68), and McNelis in the 100 butterfly (58.01). Diver Alex Impellizzeri also barely missed out on qualifying for the finals meet, completing a 6-dive round with a score of 147.55.
