Track Teams Return to Action at Woodhaven

After a long break, the Notre Dame Track and Field teams were back on the track to compete against three schools at a meet held at Woodhaven High School.

Junior Lauren Neiheisel led the girls team with first place finishes in the 800m and 1600m runs, at 2:32.84 and 5:36.62.  Freshman Jennifer Ohlsson raced to second in the 3200m run with a time of 12:33.99.  In the 300m hurdles, senior Jennifer Redoutey finishedthird in 55.79. In relays, the 4x100m team of freshman Julia Mistretta, sophomore Carly Zeoli, junior Katelyn Kozole, sophomore Paige Gollinger finished second in 54.64.  The 4x800m team consisting of junior Claire Seitzinger, junior Anna Miklas, junior Abby Rankin, and Ohlsson was also second in 11:23.92.

For the boys, junior Niko Fraser won the 3200m run in 10:09.40 and joined freshman James Ohlsson, sophomore Aaron Crane, and junior John Pieper for first in the 4x800m run with a time of 8:49.83.  Ohlsson and Pieper finished second and third, respectively, in the 800m run in 2:10.30 and 2:13.20.  Pieper also took third in the 400m dash in 55.73 and was a member of the 4x400m relay along with junior Eric Silver, sophomore Luke Cummings, and sophomore Drew Guest that finished second in the 4x400m relay in 3:51.04.  

In sprints, senior Andrew Blocki came away with a pair of third place finishes in the 100m and 200m dashes in 11.94 and 24.03.  Blocki combined with junior Thomas Below, junior Alec Gaboury, and sophomore Nolan Mylenek to place second in the 4x100m relay in 45.91 and again with Below, Gaboury, and sophomore Michael Winiarski to finish second in the 4x200m in 1:39.39.

In field events, senior John Paul Terzano was second in the discus 127’ 04”.
