Fundraising

In order to keep the amount of fundraising under control, all fundraising must be approved by the advancement office.  In general, there are two major groups that handle fundraising for the school:  the Parents Club and the Booster Club.

Parents Club

The main fundraiser for the Parents Club is the $50,000 Grand Prize Super Raffle.  Each family is required to sell or purchase 55 Super Raffle tickets at a cost of $10 each for a total of $550 per school year.  Tickets are mailed to all registered families in the summer and are typically due back to the school in mid-September.

The funds raised cover the expense of more than 50 Parents Club activities and return more than $150,000 to the school each year.  The Super Raffle is the result of a consolidation of many previous fundraisers held at the school.  The Super Raffle culminates with a community-wide Oktoberfest-Irish Style celebration designed to thank parents for their efforts in fulfilling their raffle ticket obligation and bring the community together in a fun, positive manner.

Booster Club

The Booster Club generates revenue that directly supports our student-athletes.  Through concession sales, spirit wear sales and gate revenue, the Booster Club generates approximately $50,000 a year to support our athletic department and various athletic programs.

Miscellaneous

Student Walkathon

The student walkathon is an extension of the Parents Club Super Raffle.  All students are awarded participation in the walkathon once their family has met their Super Raffle obligation.  If families sell more tickets than their required amount, than students can earn additional prizes, jeans days and days off of school.  Details are announced in a letter from the President in September of each school year.  The student walkathon is completely optional, but a great way to begin to teach students about the concepts of philanthropy and stewardship.

Scrip Program

When you purchase scrip dollars, they can be used as cash at stores and it results in 3% -15% being returned to the school. Each family has their own account and sixty percent (60%) of that which is returned goes to offset the participating family\'s tuition. The other 40% goes to the school\'s general fund. Since many faculty, staff, and administrators do not have children at the school, and would not directly benefit from the tuition assistance fund, a special financial aid fund to benefit families has been set up. Registration forms may be picked up in either the Notre Dame Preparatory office or the Marist Academy office.

Target Guest Card

Use your Target Guest Card when you shop at Target. One percent (1%) of your purchase is donated to the school. If you have a Guest Card, call 1-800-316-6142 and designate Notre Dame Prep and Marist Academy as the school of your choice. Applications are available at any Target store. Although one percent doesn't sound like much, if you multiply it by over 800 families it could be quite profitable to the school.  Proceeds support faculty enhancement development.

GFS Fun Funds

Like Target, a percentage of sales (ranges from 3-7%) come directly back to the school. Gordon Food Services will send a monthly flyer to your home address filled with coupons and specials.  Proceeds support faculty enhancement and development.
