Destiny Tolliver has been named Second Team All-County by the Oakland Press while teammate Katie Bloomgren, Lindsay Kander, Dalton Tolliver and Catherine Wieczorek were Honorable Mention selections. (December 19, 2008)
After reaching the quarterfinals for the 5th time in school history, the top players on this year's volleyball team have picked up post-season awards from the Volleyball Coaches Association. Hannah Ziegler (Academic All-State), Destiny Tolliver (2nd team All-State, All-Region), Dalton Tolliver (All-Region), Lindsay Kander (All-Region), Catherine Wieczorek (HM All-State, All-Region), Lauryn Hammond (All-Region) and Katie Bloomgren (All-Region) were all recognized.

Notre Dame Prep advances to regional final— At Pontiac, Lauryn Hammond went 14-for-14 serving with 13 points and one ace and she was also 28-for-28 setting with 12 assists for Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, which defeated Hamtramck 25-6, 25-6, 25-7 in a volleyball regional semifinal Tuesday.
Kate Bloomgren went 15-for-16 serving with 13 points and four aces and Christine Ruggeri was 34-for-34 setting with 14 assists for the Irish.
Notre Dame Prep will host Marysville in a regional final on Thursday at 7 p.m. (Oakland Press, November 12, 2008)
Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 25-25-25, Warren Regina 21-16-7 — At Pontiac, Kate Bloomgren was 21-for-22 serving, with two aces, 13 points and seven digs, Destiny Tolliver went 11-for-12 serving with one ace and nine points, and was 19-for-21 attacking with 11 kills and two blocks. Dalton Tolliver was 20-for-23 attacking with eight kills and two blocks, and Lindsay Kander went 24-for-28 attacking with 10 kills and two blocks for Prep (45-13-3) in a Class B district fi nal. Notre Dame Prep 25-25-25, Madison Heights Lamphere 11-8-3 - at Pontiac, Lauryn Hammond went 17-for-17 serving with 14 points and one ace as well as 85-for-85 setting with 35 assists for the Irish (44-12-3). Lindsay Kander went 6-for-6 serving with four aces and four points. She also went 21-for-22 attacking with 15 kills and three blocks for NDP. Destiny Tolliver went 15-for-15 serving with three aces and four points. She also went 23-for-25 attacking with 14 kills and three blocks. Andover Tournament — At Bloomfield Hills, Clarkston went 7-0 on the day, defeating Pontiac Notre Dame Prep in the finals, 25-9 and 25-11. Notre Dame went 5-1-1 on the day, led by Lindsay Kander, who went 72-for-80 attacking with 24 kills and nine blocks, a perfect 47-for-47 serving with four aces and 29 points. Cathy Wieczorek had 30 kills and eight blocks, with 19 aces and 35 points, Hannah Zeigler had 21 kills and Kate Bloomgren was 66-for-68 serving with two aces, 37 points and 44 digs for the Fighting Irish (28-8-2). Destiny Tolliver was 18-for-21 attacking with nine kills and six blocks and Cathy Wieczorek was 13-for-14 attacking with six kills and two blocks and was 15-for-16 serving with 11 points and four aces. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 22-25-25-25, Rochester 25-22-19-20; Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 25-25-25, Romeo 17-8-16; Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 25-25-25, Lake Orion 20-16-12 — At Lake Orion, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep dropped its first game to Rochester, then went on to defeat the Falcons in the next three games and sweep both Romeo and host Lake Orion.
