Parent Commitment Forms due May 18, 2011

The NDPMA faculty, staff and volunteer organizers would like to thank all the families who have given so generously of their time and talents in supporting our school this year. Our Irish community benefits greatly from the efforts of over 125 Parent Club committees and your contribution is an essential element to this success. The 11-12 Parent Commitment requirement remains 10 volunteer hours per family and will help fill the 7000+ hours needed to staff these committees. We invite every NDPMA family to review the committee/event descriptions on the Parent Commitment Form by clicking on the name of the each committee. Please use this information to identify at least 7 selections on which you might like to serve. (Note: This Parent Club commitment is separate from any Booster obligation you might have for your student-athletes!)
The committees are allocated in 4, 5, 6, or 10 hour increments. These time descriptions are as accurate as possible and only one adult from your family will be assigned to a total of 10 hours per school year. We ask that you take your commitment seriously as the success of these events depends on your cooperation. Feel free to refer to the "Rules of the Program" if you have any questions.
With over 700 families choosing from the same list; it very important that you complete your form accurately and completely. It is extremely difficult to consider prioritized selections or requests to work with certain parents; you will be placed on one or more of the committee(s) you have chosen, provided you make your 7 selections. Forms are processed on a first come, first serve basis so do not delay!
Perhaps you would like to do more! Chair people are a very valuable resource at our school and their leadership is greatly appreciated. While some chair positions exceed 10 hours, you may find it a very rewarding undertaking! I hope you might consider a future chair position.

Every registered family is required to submit one Parent Commitment Form! If you wish to "opt-out" of some or all of your hours for the year, please go to the end of the Parent Commitment form and make this selection. The opt-out rate at sign-up is $35 per hour. If your form is not received by the May 18th deadline, you will be billed the total opt-out fee ($350) on your July statement.

A confirmation letter indicating your assignment(s) and the dates (if known) will be sent to you in June. You will receive the name of the chair(s) for your designated committee(s), their phone numbers and email addresses. (A complete list of chair people will also be available on the NDPMA website.) If you do not hear from your chair at least 6 weeks prior to the event date, it is your responsibility to contact him/her. Please note: If you do not show up for your assigned event, your account will be billed at a rate of $50 per hour.
This system has worked well for many years, distributing the workload among many parents and lessening the burden for all. As members of the Notre Dame Prep and Marist Academy family, we share the responsibility of supporting and enhancing our children’s educational experience.
