Rules of the Parent Service Commitment Program
- For the 2009/10 school year, you are required to donate 10 valuable hours of service to the one or more of the 125 Parent's Club sponsored committees at NDPMA. Your 10 hour commitment will be spread over one or two committees (per family).
- The total fee for opting out of your parent service commitment at the time of sign-up is $250.
- A parent commitment form is completed (late April/early May) online. Nine selections must be chosen or the form is considered "incomplete." You will be assigned your 10 committee hours from one or more of the committees you select.
- Only one form per family will be accepted.
- A letter will be sent (in June) confirming your assignment(s).
- One parent (your choice) must work the assigned committee(s). If both parents show up to work on a committee, double hours will not be credited.
- Please fill-out the form completely! It is important that we have accurate contact information (phone and email) so that the chairs can easily reach you about your scheduled assignment(s).
- The chairs will make every effort to contact each parent on their list of committee members. If you have not been contacted at least 6 weeks before the date of your event, it will be your responsibility to contact the appropriate chair. The list of chairpeople is available on the NDPMA website.
- Do not place yourself on another committee.
- Do not "switch" with another parent without contacting me in advance.
- All change requests must go through the Parent Commitment Coordinator.
- All chairs have lists of their committee members and are instructed to give credit to only those names listed. Please make sure you sign-in or talk to your chair upon arriving at your scheduled event to receive credit.
- Due to the complexity of the scheduling process and the need to staff all committees appropriately, changes are not encouraged. If you need to change a commitment because of a serious conflict, please call me well in advance of the event date! We do not want to leave any committee short-staffed!
- If you cancel at the last minute or do not show up, you will be billed $35 per hour missed.
- We have great events happening at Notre Dame Prep and Marist Academy all year! A dedicated group of chairpeople have stepped-up to coordinate all these activities. It is my hope that you too will support our school by fulfilling your parent commitment hours as assigned. We need your help to make these events the best they can be.
