James Yanik (171) and John Potwardowski (103) were honorable mention selections to the North Oakland Sports All-Area team (April 25, 2012)

NDP sent 12 wrestlers to MHSAA Individual District tournament. James Yanik went 2-2 on the day to finish the season at 24-10 with 22 pins. Sophomore wrestlers John Potwardowski and David Carroll also went 2-2 on the day. (February 13, 2012)

Irish fell to Clawson in first round of MHSAA Team District. (February 9, 2012)

James Yanik pinned David Obia (UD Jesuit) to secure his second straight CHSL Individual Championship. Yanik earned All-CHSL and All-CHSL Academic Honors. John Potwardowski finished 4th to help the Irish to  a 7th place finish. (February 6, 2012)

Irish picked up seven medals at the Warren LIncoln Invite. 103-John Potwardowski-2nd Place, 103-David Jankowski-4th Place,135-Kyle Slunick-5th Place, 140-David Carroll-3rd Place, 140-Ryan McConaghy-4th Place, 145-Kyler Kirk-1st Place, 145-Tyler Obear-4th Place (January 27, 2012)

Irish fall to Lutheran North (53-12) and De La Salle (69-6) in tri meet at De La Salle (January 25, 2012)

Irish dropped 78-6 decision to Catholic Central. (January 18, 2012)

James Yanik (2-3) finished 4th to lead the Irish at the Fruitport Invite. (January 15, 2012)

Irish fell to Divine Child (53-21) and Bishop Foley (48-24). Wrestlers who went 2-0 were John Potwardowski at 103lbs, David Carroll at 140lbs, and James Yanik at 171lbs.  Wrestlers who went 1-1 were David Jankowski at 112lbs, Chase Leske at 152lbs, and Michael Cowdin at 189lbs.  (January 12, 2011)

Irish fall to U of D Jesuit 72-0 and Brother Rice 72-12. James Yanik recorded a pin against Brother Rice before dropping an 8-4 decision to David Obia in a rematch of the 171lb CHSL title match from a year ago. Yanik won the championship 3-1. (January 4, 2011)

At the Oakland County Tournament, James Yanik lead the team with a 2-2 record at 171. John Potwardowski finished 1-2 with a first period pin in the first round of action. (December 18, 2011)

Jon Potwardowski (5th), David Jankowski (6th), David Carroll (4th), Kyler Kirk (5th), and James Yanik (3rd) all won medals at Saturday's Invitational at Warren Lincoln High School. (December 12, 2011)

Notre Dame Prep Wrestling won the first dual meet of the 2011-12 season, with a 36-36 win by criteria over South Lyon East. It came down to the the sixth criteria, most pins. NDP had two pins to SLE's one pin.  Pinning for Irish were Michael Cowdin and Kyler Kirk. For Cowdin, a sophomore and second year wrestler, it was his first win.  Kirk, a freshman, also recorded his first varsity win. The next dual the Irish lost to Dearborn 76-6. (December 7, 2011)

Notre Dame Prep knocked off Mt. Clemens 30-12 in the MHSAA district semifinals. The Irish then fell to Clawson in the finals 69-6. (February 11, 2011)

James Yanik won the CHSL 171-pound championship on February 5, 2011.

James Yanik went  2-0 with two pins to lead the Irish in their two matches against Orchard Lake St. Mary's and Clarkston. (January 19, 2011)

The Fighting Irish won two out of the four matches wrestled against Lutheran North as Danny Santos and Nicole Roser picked up forfeit victories. Against  Bishop Foley, Danny Santos and Keegan Kirk both pinned their opponents. James Yanik pulled off an exciting overtime victory using a late takedown in the 3rd period to tie up the match and adding another takedown in OT to secure the victory to give them a 3 and 1 record against Bishop Foley. Junior captain James Yanik finished 2nd place claiming his second runner up finish of the season at the Warren Fitzgerald Invitational. Keegan Kirk finished with a 1-2 record falling one win short of placing. (January 9, 2011)

Riverview Richard 24, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 15: Divine Child 78, Notre Dame Prep 6 - At Dearborn,  Junior Captain James Yanik went 2-0 with a pin against Divine Child. Senior Captain Danny Santos and Freshman Dean Hosler both went 1-1. (January 7, 2011)

Wrestling had an outstanding day at the Warren Lincoln Invite @ Lutheran North HS.  Leading the way for the Fighting Irish was James Yanik who finished 2nd and recorded three pins on his way to the finals.  After controlling most of his finals match, one mistake lost him the match.  Keegan Kirk finished 6th and recorded two pins, both in less than one minute.  Keegan finished 2-2 on the day.  Despite finishing 0-2, Nicole Roser, Anthony Vogel and Mike Cowdin made great improvements in their wrestling.  All of them were wrestling up a weight class with Nicole wrestling up two weight classes.  The team is in action Tuesday at Detroit Catholic Central at 5pm.
