Campus Ministry

 PURPOSE:

The purpose of Campus Ministry at Notre Dame Preparatory (NDP) is to support and complement both school and family in their mutually integrative roles of faith formation and religious education, which extends to the lived faith experience of the students. The student’s spiritual development is the core focus of a Christian, Catholic education. Christian faith, values and theology are taught, encouraged and discovered at NDP. How students live out these principles becomes their spirituality. Campus Ministry serves to support, enrich and foster this growth in our students. A structured, well-rounded, and holistic campus ministerial program is provided, which assists in empowering the students to meet the vision and mission of the school community as stated below.

NDP Mission:

The vision and mission of NDP is to educate students within a highly identified Catholic and Marist-influenced, college preparatory high school environment; so as to become well-formed Christian people and upright citizens who actively contribute service to the community as academic scholars - thinking and acting in tandum, according to the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.

GOAL:
Campus Ministry exists as an integral part of ensuring the mission of NDP, so that - as a community of Christian desciples - students are formed, (according to Marist spirituality), to become all that they can be in the ways of Jesus Christ; [i.e., to become highly motivated, humble sons & daughters of God; evangelizers - in the way Mary evangelized - who are light for the world & salt of the earth.]

MEANS:

Working closely with administration and the religion department, Campus Ministry seeks to achieve its goal by instructing, encouraging, and actively supporting the individual student's personal spiritual growth and development, as integrated within a uniquely identified Catholic and Marist - influenced environment of the NDP school community. This in turn, is achieved through the integration of four major components in the campus ministerial program:
