Senior Chris Burns and junior Jordan Baginski have earned Academic All State honors for the 2010 season.
The NDP boys track and field team had it's strongest ever showing at the state finals in 2010. The 3200 relay team of Jordan Baginski, Max Gilles, Troy Kauffman and Chris Burns placed 6th with a new school record time of 8:06.66, earning second team all state honors. Burns also earned second team all state honors in the 1600, placing fourth with a new school record time of 4:18.72 and the 3200, placing 6th with a time of 9:35.62. 2010 MHSAA D2 State Finals Results
Chris Burns placed 4th in the 800 at the Oakland County Championships with a new school record time of 1:57.49. He now owns school records in the 3200 relay, 800, 1600, 3200 and 5K. 2010 Oakland County Championships Results
NDP boys track and field finished 6th at the Catholic League AB Championships with their best performance in recent years. Ray Leduc broke the school record in the discus with a throw of 123'5". Jordan Baginksi placed 4th in the 800 with a time of 2:04.77 and earned All Catholic honors. Chris Burns won the 1600 (4:31.78) and 3200 (9:37.94) earning All Catholic honors in both events. The 3200 relay team of Jordan Baginski, Troy Kauffman, Mark Juriga and Max Gilles placed 4th with a time of 8:45.93 and earned All Catholic honors.
NDP boys track and field finished in 8th place at the regional meet at Lahser High School with 34 points. The meet started on Friday and concluded with the last four events on Saturday due to weather conditions. The 3200 relay team of Brad Lorant, Max Gilles, Jordan Baginski and Chris Burns placed 2nd with a school record time of 8:16.2 to become the first boys relay in school hisotry to qualify for the state finals. At the Dakota Invitational, Chris Burns won the 1600 with a new school record time of 4:24. He also won the 3200 with a time of 9:37.3. Max Gilles placed 4th in the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.1. 2010 Dakota Invite Results
NDP boys track and field won their third league meet of the season 78-50 over Riverview Gabriel Richard to finish the league season with a record of 3-1. They swept the field events as Joe Kuil won the high jump (5'0"), Matt Swazer won the long jump (17'11"), Ray Leduc won the shot put (37'3.5") and John Pasko won the discus (111'3").
At the Pontiac High School 9th Grade Invite, the NDP boys finished 6th out of 13 teams. Troy Kauffman placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:12.38 and Mark Juriga placed third with a time of 2:15. Connor Verheyen and Jesse Lopez both tied for fourth place in high jump (5'0"). Connor Bowers placed 4th in discus with a throw of 88'11".
The NDP boys track team competed in a quad meet at Detroit Country Day. John Ireland placed fifth in the 400 with a time of 56.06. Chris Burns won the 800 with a time of 1:59.53 and Jordan Baginksi placed 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:09.8. Max Gilles placed 4th in the 300 hurdles and broke the school record with a time of 43.1.
NDP boys track and field fell to Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 98-30 and are now 2-1 in the league. Winners for the Irish were the 3200 relay team of Brett Kramer, Jordan Baginski, Chris Burns and Brad Lorant (8:40.87), Burns in the 1600 (4:47.3), and Burns in the 3200 (10:00.49).
NDP boys track and field finished 4th at the Carlson Marauder Invitational with 67 points. The 3200 relay team of Brad Lorant, Max Gilles, Jordan Baginski and Chris Burns won with a time of 8:20.28, shattering the school record by 27 seconds. Burns also won th e 1600 with a new school record time of 4:28.75 and the 800 with a personal best time of 2:00.68. Lorant won the 3200 (10:12). The mile relay team of Baginski, Burns, Lorant and Gilles took 2nd place with a season best time of 3:39. Matt Swazer broke the school record in the long jump (18'2").

Oakland County Track & Field Honor Roll (The Oakland Press, April 27, 2009)
The NDP boys track and field team defeated Bishop Foley 84-43. Chris Burns improved his school record in the 2 mile with a time of 9:53.75 and broke the school record in the mile with a time of 4:32.06. Matt Swazer won the long jump with a mark of 17'7". Ryan Yanik won the 110 hurdles (18.81) and 300 hurdles (48.0). Brad Lorant won the 800 (2:06.93). The 800 relay team of Swazer, Andrew Lauer, Jordan Baginski and Andrew Lyng won with a time of 1:43.56 and the 1600 relay team of Swazer, Lauer, Baginski and Lorant won with a time of 3:48.
Chris Burns won the 2 mile and broke the school record with a time of 9:55 at the Gibraltar Carlson Invitational. The 3200 meter relay team of Brad Lorant, Burns, Brett Kramer and Ryan McMahon placed 3rd with a season best time of 9:06. Lorant placed third in the mile with a time of 4:55. In the field events, Ray Leduc placed 4th in the discus with a throw of 102'6" and John Pasko placed 5th with a throw of 98'9". Leduc placed 6th in the shot put with a season best throw of 36'3".
Chris Burns placed fifth in the mile with a time of 4:38.99 and third in the 2 mile with a time of 10:06.16 at the Oxford Invitational.

Alumnus Chris Fecek '03 has been selected as a recipient of the Alfred G. Wilson award by Oakland University. He was a captain of the cross country and track teams at OU and is the current NDP school record holder in the 2 mile run with a time of 10:02. Click here for article

Regionals @ Algonac - Three school records were broken by the boys at the regional meet on Friday. The 3200 Meter Relay (Ben Derico, Brad Lorant, Logan Lawson, Matt Kurowski) placed 7th with a new school record time of 8:59.86. Sean Grogan placed 8th in the 400 Meter Dash and broke the school record with a time of 54.13 James Powers improved upon his own school record in the 300 Meter Hurdles by over a second with a time of 43.23. Oxford Invitational - At the 45th annual Oxford Invitational on Saturday, the 3200 Meter relay (Ben Derico, Logan Lawson, Jeff Moeller, Matt Kurowski) took second place and Sean Grogan placed 4th in the 400 Meter Run.
Athens Relays - The boys competed in the 30th Annual Troy Athens Relays on Saturday. They took fourth in the Athens Medley Relay (Logan Lawson, Nick Ohlsson, Neil Carter, Matt Kurowski) and the 1600 Relay (James Powers, Sean Grogan, Nick Ohlsson, Neil Carter) took third place with a season best time of 3:46, only 1 second from the school record.
NDP 83, Bishop Foley 40 - The boys got their first win of the season on Thursday at Bishop Foley. All four relays were winners along with Neil Carter in the High Jump and 400 Meter Dash, David Byrne in the Shot Put, James Powers in the 110 Meter and 300 Meter Hurdles, Jeff Moeller in the 800 Meter Run, and Brad Lorant in the 3200 Meter Run. Carlson Invite - The boys track team competed in the Carlson Marauder Invitational on Friday. Top performances from the Irish include a first place finish from James Powers in the 100 Meter Hurldes and third place finishes from Matt Kurowski in the Mile and Ben Derico in the 2 Mile. Gabriel Richard (Riverview) 81, NDP 47 - Although they did not win the meet, the boys turned in six first place performances including a new school record of 15.94 from James Powers in the 110 Meter Hurdles. Other winners were Sean Grogan in the Long Jump, David Byrne in Shot Put and Discus, Chris Denis in the 400 Meter Dash and Ben Derico in the 3200 Meter Run. Ladywood Invite - On Tuesday, April 3rd the NDP Boys Track team competed in the Ladywood Invitational. There was no team scoring at this early season event, but the NDP boys took 1st place in 3 events, including James Powers in the 110 Meter hurdles, the 4 x 100 Meter Relay (Chris Denis, Weston Lawson, Chris Brademeyer, Sean Grogan), and Ben Derico in the 3200 Meter Run.
