School-day open house sessions to feature Notre Dame's lower school in real time.
Notre Dame once again will be hosting special school-day open house sessions on Thursday, March 28, as its lower school opens its doors during the day when classes are in session. It is an opportunity for parents to sit in the classrooms, roam the hallways and watch Notre Dame students and teachers in action — in “real-time.”
The Pontiac-based school, which offers the rigorous International Baccalaureate program from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, plans two open house sessions—morning and afternoon—on Thursday. See schedule below. Notre Dame's middle school hosted an open house this past Tuesday.
Kathleen Offer, who heads Notre Dame’s admissions group, said the school looks forward to these school-day events because it gives prospective parents who still may be undecided about a school for their children an up-close view of all the great things going on at Notre Dame during the day.
"This event is geared toward parents considering Notre Dame for their children who may be starting school in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade," Offer said. "We believe this transparent and innovative approach sets us apart from other schools and provides parents with a real glimpse into life at Notre Dame. We frequently hear about how great our school and faculty are from many of our 'shadow' visitors. We are confident our school day open house guests will come away with that same feeling."
