Two student-athletes from Notre Dame sign to play college athletics


Notre Dame hosted a college signing ceremony today for two senior student-athletes. Gabrielle Shilling will be playing volleyball at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, and Lauren Burnick has committed to join the volleyball team at Lake Erie College in Paynesville, Ohio.

High school athletic highlights for each student-athlete follow:

Gabrielle Shilling (Volleyball – University of Rhode Island): 2017 Ms. Volleyball Nomination List; 2016 First-Team All Region; 2015 and 2016 Second-Team All Oakland County; 2015 and 2016 All State Honorable Mention

Lauren Burnick (Volleyball – Lake Erie College): 4-Year Varsity Letter Winner and Starter; Helped lead NDP to 2014 Final Four and Four District Titles; 2017 Team Leader in Assists

Congratulations, Gabrielle and and Lauren! Go Rams and go Storm, but never, ever forget to “Go Irish!”
