• Develop note and rhythm reading
• Development of more advanced rhythm instruments, i.e. Boomwackers
• Introduction to important composers of the previous 300 years
• Develop music performance skills through participation in short skits
• Participate musically in the Liturgy

Grade Four

• Sing songs in different languages
• Development of the voice through singing, using proper tone and technique
• Introduction to instruments of the band and orchestra
• Learn to play the recorder in the 2nd semester
• Develop music performance skills
• Participate musically in the Liturgy

Grade Five

• Sing songs in different languages
• Continue development of the voice through singing, using proper tone, technique and harmony
• Introduction to the various musical periods throughout history, i.e. Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary Periods
• Voluntary participation in beginning band
• Develop music performance skills
• Participate musically in the Liturgy
