PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten

  • Develop motor skills and movement skills
  • Participate in movement, rhythmic activities, simple games, relays, singing games, stunts, and tumbling
  • Understand the importance of safety considerations
  • Introduce Christian behaviors and “good sportsmanship”

Grade One

  • Continue to develop motor skills
  • Introduce individual and dual sports
  • Participate in movement, rhythmic activities, simple games, relays, singing games, stunts, and tumbling
  • Continue to learn the Christian behaviors of sportsmanship
  • Introduce social/emotional skills, including team play
  • Understand the importance of safety conditions

Grade Two

  • Continue to develop motor skills
  • Introduce team sports
  • Continue to learn the Christian behaviors of sportsmanship
  • Continue social/emotional skills, including team play
  • Understand the importance of safety conditions
  • Introduce physical fitness
  • Introduce health concepts

Grade Three

  • Continue to develop motor skills
  • Understand the importance of proper fitness and wellness
  • Continue social/emotional skills, including team play

  • Continue team sports

Grade Four & Grade Five

  • Develop social/emotional skills including team play, positive social interactions, problem solving, acceptable display of emotion, and responsibility
  • Understand the importance of safety conditions when taking part in physical activities
  • Participate in conditioning exercises, individual and team sports, fitness and wellness activities
  • Continue health concepts
