Exploratory Art 6
Sixth grade art students will comprehend basic concepts essential to upper school courses. Sixth grade students will be introduced to the basic skills of art. Drawing, painting, and three-dimensional assignments are also used in conjunction with lecture, videos, examples, and discussion.

Exploration in Art 7, 8
Students will explore painting, drawing and design through various media and assignments. Advanced conceptual imagery and the idea of interpretation are incorporated into the students' work. Technique and materials are discovered through a variety of general assignments: color wheel, color theory, still life, perspective, self-portrait, character design, nature studies and themed group projects. Emphasis on experimentation and appreciation is encouraged.
