Financial Aid: Awards and Expectations

Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy wants very much to help families of limited means in their pursuit of a faith-based, college-preparatory education. Therefore, the school offers a variety of need-based grants. While we are happy to partner in helping families of limited means afford our school, we do expect each family to stretch their financial resources to meet a fair portion of the cost of tuition.

Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy financial aid resources are limited and, as a result, not all students who are admitted will be eligible to receive financial aid. Notre Dame Preparatory SchoolMarist Academy is fortunate to have many outstanding applicants. As there are not enough funds available to cover every accepted applicant's need, we first fund the students we believe understand the mission of our school and show the ability to be successful in the rigors of a college-preparatory curriculum. and

Therefore, students receiving financial aid must:

1.      reach a minimum GPA of 2.75 for the previous school year.

2.      complete and document the required community service for NDPMA.

3.      contribute to the school community by participating in school sanctioned extracurricular activities.

4.      maintain an acceptable discipline and attendance record at NDPMA.

 Process for Financial Aid

  1. Acceptance to Notre Dame Preparatory or Marist Academy
  2. Registration: families interested in aid must register before applying for aid. Families interested in aid may, however, register for a reduced rate if approved by the Admissions Office.
  3. Submission of the NDPMA Financial Aid Form and the Student Aid Form from the Private School Aid Service (PSAS) by March 15.
  4. Monthly payments: families applying for aid are expected to make monthly payments until financial aid decisions are complete in June. Failure to make consistent payments during this period can affect the amount of aid an applicant will receive.
  5. Refunds: if, after families are informed of the decision regarding financial aid, the family determines the award to be insufficient all previous payments may be refunded.

Typical Awards

Because of the limited natural of NDP/MA’s financial aid budget, the typical financial aid awards range from $1000-$1500. While larger need-based scholarships (as much as half tuition) are awarded, these are reserved for students with significant need and great academic promise.

 Payment Schedule

Academic scholarships and financial aid awards are not posted to accounts until Sept. 1. Families receiving aid are expected to make monthly tuition payments starting with registration in February.
