Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 37, Detroit Loyola 0 — At Pontiac, Chris Maltese went 6-for-12 for 142 yards and a touchdown and had 55 yards on 11 rushes and a touchdown on the ground, John Stoddard picked off a pair of balls on defense, and Mario Zambito caught a touchdown pass and returned a interception 42 yards for a score for Notre Dame (2-1, 0-1). Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 33, River Rouge 0 — At River Rouge, Sophomore backup quarterback Mike Frakes started due to an injury and led the Irish (1-0) to their first victory of the season. Frakes had 55 yards passing and one touchdown pass. Eric Tye had a great night on the ground with 215 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 26 carries. NDP makes their fourth MHSAA Playoff appearance with a game at Croswell-Lexington. Game time is scheduled for 1pm on Saturday, October 28, 2006. The Fighting Irish (8-1) won the Catholic League Intersectional Prep Bowl Championship while the Pioneers (8-1) were champions of the Blue Water Area Conference.

The Fighting Irish clinched the CHSL Intersectional I Division Championship with a 56-22 win at Detroit Urban Lutheran on Friday, October 6. Joey Zambito rushed for 133 yards on 10 carries and four touchdowns as NDP set a school record for most points scored in a game. The Fighting Irish (6-0, 6-1) also secured a spot in the CHSL and MHSAA Playoffs. NDP will host Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes, in CHSL semifinal, on Friday, October 13 at 7pm.
The Fighting Irish recorded their second consecutive shutout 35-0 over Detroit Loyola on Saturday, September 30 at U of D High School. NDP improves to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the CHSL Intersectional I. Quarterback Kyle McMahon ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Fullbacks Chris Brademeyer and David Woodhull, each had a rushing touchdown against the Bulldogs (4-2). The Fighting Irish play at Detroit Urban Lutheran on Friday, October 6 at 7pm.
The Fighting Irish shutout Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 31-0 on Friday, September 22 to improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the CHSL Intersectional I. The homecoming contest at Alumni Field was played before a standing room only crowd, despite a driving mist throughout the contest. QB Kyle McMahon rushed 13 times for 150 yards and three touchdowns, and threw 88-yards and a score for NDP. The Irish return to action on Saturday, September 30 against Detroit Loyola. Kickoff is scheduled for 2pm at U of D Jesuit HS.
