Switching seasons creates new set of problems (Freep, May 11, 2007)
Senior golfer Doug Orzel continues to receive accolades for his outstanding season. Doug has been named to the Division 2 All-State First Team as well as Academic All-State Honorable Mention. These honors come after Doug already earning All-Catholic League Honors and being named to the All-Oakland County First Team. Doug is one of only two players in NDP history to earn all four of these prestigious honors in the same season. In addition, Doug is also an MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award nominee and a Tom Connell Award nominee, presented annually to the top male golfer in the Catholic League!
Senior Golfer Doug Orzel has been voted First Team All-Oakland County. Doug had an outstanding season in leading the Fighting Irish to an 8-2 record, a Catholic League AA Sectional Title, a Regional Championship and a fifth-place finish at the Division II State Finals. Doug is only the sixth golfer in NDP history to earn All-Couny First Team Honors!
