NDP is 8th at CHSL Tournament, Sinishtaj wins Title -The Fighting Irish finished with 68 points while Notre Dame Prep’s Nick Sinishtaj (photo) was the lone champion for the Irish, after pinning Detroit Jesuit’s Brandon Kidder in 5:12 of the 145-pound finals. “It was pretty important (to win) because it was my last year,” said Sinishtaj, a former understudy of former Notre Dame Prep coach Joe Kidder, who coaches Detroit-Jesuit. “I was pretty much expecting everything he (Brandon Kidder) was going to do.”  (Oakland Press, February 11, 2007)

NDP 84, Detroit Ceasar Cavez 0 - At Pontiac, Alex Aprile (112), Tim Robertson (119), Jim McEvilly (125), Matt Stelmach (140) and Giuseppe Tiseo (152) all pinned their opponents in the Fighting Irish victory on February 1, 2007.

NDP 45, Riverview Richard 36 - At Pontiac on February 1, 2007, Collin McGreevy (119), Jeff Williams (130), Matt Stelmach (140), Nick Sinishtaj (145), Chris Dennis (152), Scott Koviak (160), Rob Sulkowski (189), and Tony Perlotto (215) all earned victories for NDP, who improves to 1-3 in the CHSL and 3-9 Overall.

At the Flint Beecher tournament on January 27th, 2007, Matt Stelmach (140) took 3rd place and Tony Perlotto (215) took 4th place. 

NDP 60, Bloomfield Hills Andover 24 - The Irish picked up their first victory of the season with the win in Bloomfield Hills. Jeff Williams (130), Matt Stelmach (140), Scott Koviak (160), Tony Perlotto (215) and Mike DePorre (285) all picked up individual victories. (January 18, 2007)

At the Burton Bendle Invite on January 13, 2007, three Irish wrestlers placed individually. Alex Aprile (103) took 2nd place, and Drew Tonkovich (171) and Tony Perlotto (215) both took 4th place.

NDP finished 14th at the West Bloomfield Invite on Janaury 7, 2007. Nick Sinishtaj (145) and Tony Perlotto (215) each finished third in their respective weight classes. Colin McGreevy (119) finished 6th in his weight class.

NDP dropped two matches on January 4, 2007 falling to Detroit U-of-D Jesuit 45-27 and Grosse Pointe South 43-36. Alex Aprile (103), Matt Stelmach (140), Nick Shinistaj (145), Tony Perlotto (215) won both of their matches. NDP is 0-9 overall and 0-3 in the CHSL.

Pontiac Notre Dame Prep had a hard time at the Linden Christmas Team tournament, losing five matches. However, Nick Shinistaj was one of the few bright spots for the Irish as he recorded a 4-1 record.

Nick Sinishtaj def Sam Davenport (West Bloomfield) 7-5 to finish 5th in the 145-pound weight class at the Oakland County Tournament December 16-17, 2006, while Tony Perlotto finished 8th in the 215-pound weight class.
