NDP Names Pat Battani Girls Varsity Basketball Coach
Pontiac, Mich.— Notre Dame Prep High School announced today that Pat Battani has been hired as varsity girls basketball coach. The Sterling Heights resident has posted a 95-60 career record in seven years with stops at Ann Arbor Huron High School and Bloomfield Hills Andover High School.
Both programs had struggled prior to Battani’s arrival.
Andover was coming off three straight poor seasons and was ranked 30th out of 30 Oakland Activities Association teams in the realignment rankings. Battani recorded a 40-25 mark in three seasons at Andover, including a 25-9 record in OAA Divisional action. He guided the Barons to their first district championship game in thirty years in 2005 and their first league championship in 30-years this past season.
Huron had struggled as well prior to Battani taking over with a sub .500 team and four coaches in four years. While at Ann Arbor Huron, Battani led the River Rats to a 55-35 mark in four years, with three trips to the district championship game and their first district championship in ten years. He produced two first team all-state players, including “Miss Basketball” winner Tabitha Poole.
Junior Forward Molly Coldren has been named to the Detroit Free Press Class-B All-State Team as an Honorable Mention selection. The team was released on December 10, 2006.

Coldren leads ND Prep past Murray-Wright
LIVONIA — Molly Coldren poured in a game-high 28 points to lift Pontiac Notre Dame Prep to a 73-53 win over Detroit Murray-Wright in a Class B district girls basketball semifi nal on Thursday, Nov. 16. Jessica McGlory added 13 points for the Fighting Irish (5-15), who advanced to meet Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood in a district fi nal at 7 p.m. tonight at Livonia Clarenceville.
