Giving Opportunities
Annual Fund The Annual Fund is the major fundraising initiative for the school. The Annual Fund is designed to close the gap between tuition charged and the actual costs of operating the school (in excess of $1,000 per student).
Contributions to the Annual Fund help support the recruitment, retention and recognition of our outstanding faculty, incorporate state of the art technology into our classrooms and computer labs and maintain the safety, security and ambience of our beautiful campuses.
Annual Fund donations are unrestricted and allow Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy to invest where its needs and opportunities are greatest. A successful annual fund is absolutely critical to the on-going financial stability of the school.
Capital Campaign The Capital Campaign is a longer term effort to upgrade the building facilities of the school and to improve all aspects of the teaching environment. The three main components of the Capital Campaign are:
-
The addition of a new Science, Arts and Technology wing (which will provide much needed classroom space and allow for expansion of our academic curriculum).
-
The addition and expansion of our Spiritual Center and Performing Arts venue (which will allow for more frequent and class specific services as well as much needed meeting and storage space).
-
A multitude of renovations to both Marist Academy and Notre Dame Prep at the Pontiac Campus (which will allow us to upgrade much of the office, classroom and meeting facilities in the older portions of the building).
The projects can be done in phases, but all three components are critical to the long-term sustainability of the school.
"Out on the Town" Gala The "Out on the Town" Gala is the major fundraiser for the Parents Club. The school depends on the funds raised during this event to help cover many of the special projects in the general operating budget.
Contributions to the "Out on the Town" Gala include, unique and creative auction items at multiple value levels, gifts of cash, and/or participation at the gala through attendance, bidding on auction items, sponsorship and bringing of friends and family to the event.
Walk-a-Thon The walk-a-thon is the student's contribution to the fundraising efforts of the school. This year's funds will be targeted to offset the cost of adding air-conditioning to remaining areas of the school where air conditioning doesn't currently exist.
Booster's Golf Outing
The Booster's Golf Outing is a major fundraiser for the Athletic department. With over 80 different sports teams available for both boys and girls, the Athletic program at Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy is among the top in the state. With the exception of payroll, the Athletic Department is by far the most expensive item in our budget. One of the best ways to support the Athletic Department is to participate in the annual golf outing. Options available range from hole sponsorships to prize donations to attendance at the event. The Booster's Golf Outing is also one of the most FUN ways to support the school.
Miscellaneous Because we are a community of diverse socio-economic means, we understand that not every family can participate financially in every event. At a minimum, we ask for support of the Annual Fund and the Capital Campaign. Even small donations can go a long way in helping to cover the many needs of the school. The spirit of giving is a very personal event and we accept all donations graciously. In rare cases where this is simply not feasible, we encourage you look for other ways to help the school. Donations of time, love, support and prayer will also benefit the school.
Grants/Scholarships Diversity Grant Constance Kozyra Johnson Scholarship
Other Scrip Program When you purchase scrip dollars, they can be used as cash at stores and it results in 3% -15% being returned to the school. Each family has their own account and sixty percent (60%) of that which is returned goes to offset the participating family\'s tuition. The other 40% goes to the school\'s general fund. Since many faculty, staff, and administrators do not have children at the school, and would not directly benefit from the tuition assistance fund, a special financial aid fund to benefit families has been set up. Registration forms may be picked up in either the Notre Dame Preparatory office or the Marist Academy office.
In-Kind Gifts Gifts of services, equipment and special event items are always appreciated.
Capital Gifts Capital gifts usually support building projects on campus, such as the construction of the new wing, gymnasium and media center.
