Parent Commitment

Parent Commitment Forms due May 4, 2007

The NDP/MA faculty, staff and volunteer organizers would like to thank all the families who have given so generously of their time and talents in supporting our school this year. For the 07/08 school year, every family is again being asked to donate 15 hours. (Please note: This commitment is separate from Sports!)  Part I of the form describes three ways to fulfill your Out On the Town (OOT) fundraiser requirement, a 3-hour equivalent. No one is exempt from this OOT requirement! Part II of the form asks you to select exactly 9 committees from which you will be assigned your remaining 12 hours. All committee/event descriptions can be viewed on the Parent Commitment Form by clicking on the name of the committee.

Please submit your Parent Commitment Form only after completing both Parts.  Approximately 900 families will be choosing from the same list which makes it very important that you complete your form accurately and completely.  It is extremely difficult to consider prioritized selections or requests to work with certain parents, but you will be placed on the committee(s) you have chosen, provided you make your 9 selections. Forms are processed on a first come, first serve basis so do not delay! If your form is not received by the deadline, you will be billed the total opt-out fee ($375).

Please take a moment to read the descriptions of the committees and those in need of chair people. Chair people are a very valuable resource at our school and their leadership is greatly appreciated. While some chair positions may exceed 12 hours, you may find it a very rewarding undertaking!

The committees in Part II are in 4, 6, 8 or 12 hour increments. These time descriptions are as accurate as possible and your family will only be assigned to a total of 12 hours per school year. Please take your assignment seriously as the success of these events depends on your support.  Also notice the "Rules of the Program" in this website.  Hopefully, this will be a helpful page for those of you with questions.

A confirmation letter indicating your assignment(s) and dates (if known) will be sent to you in June. You will receive the name of the chair person(s) for your assigned committee(s), their phone numbers and email addresses.  (A complete list of chair people will also be available on the website.) If you do not hear from your chair in a reasonable amount of time prior to the event date, it is your responsibility to contact him/her.  If you do not show up for your assigned event, your account will be billed at a rate of $35 per hour.  

Every registered family is required to submit one Parent Commitment Form!  Chair people, as well as Booster Club Board and Board of Trustee members, are asked to use the specially designed Chairperson form. If you wish to "opt-out" of some or all of your hours for the year, please go to the form and make this selection. The opt-out rate at sign-up is $25 per hour.

This system has worked well for many years, distributing the workload among many parents and lessening the burden for all.  As we are all members of the Notre Dame Prep and Marist Academy family, we share in the responsibility of supporting and improving our children’s education.  This is a proud tradition of our Fighting Irish community!
