Gino D’Agostini Library
Students in our lower school have access to the Gino D’Agostini Library, which holds thousands of printed books available for check-out, as well as dozens of periodicals and numerous subscription-based e-resources. Lower school students also utilizes the MEL Rides partnership giving access to resources from libraries across the state.
Pre-K to 2nd grade students attend library class twice over an eight-day rotation, while students in 3rd through 5th grade attend once over that same period. Lessons include reading comprehension, fluency, poetry, recognizing different reading genres, research skills, plagiarism, and creating citations. The Lower School library has also been redesigned in recent years to include:
- more collaborative workspaces and furniture offering a flexible learning environment
- many areas for quiet study and reading
- an interactive building block Lego wall
The Gino D’Agostini Library is staffed by a full-time librarian, and is open during school hours as well as, before and after school extended care.
