Shadow at Notre Dame
Notre Dame welcomes children entering grades 6 through 11 to experience our school firsthand as a “shadow” student. Applicants to grades K to 5 will spend a “Visit Day” at our lower school at the conclusion of the admission process. The Office of Admissions will work with your family to schedule this in conjunction with your child’s math and reading assessments, and student-parent interview. The last day to shadow in grades 6 to 11 is May 19. Visit Days at our lower school will be scheduled through May 24.
OPTIONS
Notre Dame offers two types of shadow days:
- “Irish for a Day.” Open to students entering grades 6 through 11, these days run from 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and encompass all four academic periods, Community Time, and lunch.
Scheduling: If you already have submitted an inquiry form and/or attended an in-person or virtual admissions event, please log into your MyNotreDame account to schedule your child’s shadow day in your checklist. You can access your account through the MyNotreDame link in the green bar at the top of this page. (Toggle down to “Future Families.”)
If you are not already in our system, please complete an inquiry form. (See red button at top right of this page.) As soon as possible, a member of Notre Dame’s Admissions staff will contact you to confirm our receipt of the form, and to learn more about your child’s desire to spend a day at Notre Dame. Or you may call us during school hours at 248-373-1061.
- “Lucky Day.” Open to students entering 9th grade, these days run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and encompass three academic periods, Community Time, lunch, opening and closing programs, and a voluntary scavenger hunt.
