Successful regular season last year sets Irish up for more of the same in 2022 campaign.

Head football coach Patrick Fox came to Notre Dame Prep in the summer of 2014 with more than 30 years coaching experience. He is looking forward to the 2022 campaign for the Irish.

Notre Dame Prep released its 2022 varsity football schedule this year and it features a number of traditional powerhouse schools from the Catholic High School League.

After opening the season with away tilts versus Clinton High School and Detroit Renaissance, the Irish, which finished 7-3 last year, return home to play CHSL member Macomb Lutheran North, sporting a healthy 6-4 record last year.

A game at perennial CHSL stalwart Detroit Loyola (6-6) follows on September 16 with another away contest against a rebuilding and now-independent Flint Powers Catholic (3-7) at Kettering's Atwood Stadium with brand new head coach Drew Burton. The Irish squad returns to Kozyra Alumni Field the following week for a game against Detroit Cornerstone and homecoming Oct. 7 versus Gladwin High School (9-1).

Head coach Patrick Fox is looking forward to the 2022 season with a roster full of returning high performers, including at the QB and tailback positions.

"We bring back quarterback Jacob Tuttle, who will be a junior and threw for 1300 yards and ran for 400 last season," he said. We also will see a talented tailback Bradon Prater, also a junior next season who ran for 500 yards last year."

Notre Dame Prep finishes the regular season with an away game at longtime CHSL member school Divine Child (3-6) in Dearborn, and a game at home against Detroit Edison, which featured a 6-4 record last season.

Fox also said his offensive line will be strong once again with three returning starters.

"Defensively, we have key players returning on our defensive line, inside linebacker, free safety and corner," he added. "Matthew Sadecky returns at linebacker and Landon Hehl is an outstanding defensive lineman and we look forward to watching him develop during the season."

Fox added that he expects to put a lot of points on the scoreboard again this season.

"We've averaged 33 points per game for the last three years and we've been dynamic on offense. We don't expect that to change."
