The ULTIMATE Teamwork Camp!

Age/Grade: Grades 3-6
Date/Time: June 19 - 23, 2023, 9am - 1pm
Fee: $250
Where: Lower School Classroom

About: Kids will be put to the challenge this week! Throughout the week, kids will be put into teams to play various games and complete different tasks and challenges. These games and challenges are meant for students to have fun and be active, but designed to help build critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills! Some activities will be physical, and others will be mental. Kids will need to bring tennis shoes, comfortable (athletic) clothes, a water bottle, and a lunch every day. At the end, students will get a t-shirt to remember the week together! Let’s have some fun! (Deadline to register is June 16 for this camp).

 

Mad Scientists Camp!
Age/Grade: Grades 3-5
Date/Time: June 26 - 30, 2023, 9am - 12pm
Fee: $250
Where: High School D11

About: Throughout the week, kids will become mad scientists completing fun, hands-on science experiments! We will complete a series of experiments where kids need to hypothesize (guess the outcome), complete an experiment, and reflect on our hypothesis. At the end of the week, kids will get to take home their own lab coat, goggles, and a very official lab nametag. Students will need to bring a water and snack every day, and wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty/messy! (Deadline to register is June 23 for this camp).

 
College Application Essay Workshop
Age/Grade: Grade 12
Date/Time: Session 1: June 12 - 16, 2023, 9am - 12pm

Where: A-14
About: Any incoming senior is welcome to attend this process-based camp. Students will write about themselves in a clear, concrete, honest and original voice. The focus of this camp will be to avoid generic, pedestrian writing in favor of a colorful and refreshing style that will stand out in quality and originality. EDGE Camp
Age/Grade: Grades 6-10
Date/Time: July 24 - 27, 2023, 9am - 3pm and July 28, 2023 9am - 12pm

About: It’s all about SKILLS!  Learning to present yourself well in front of others is an invaluable skill.  Forensics is that skill, whether it is performing a dramatic interp, giving a speech, or debating your beliefs.  We are pleased to offer a skills workshop and coaching camp for students active in forensics competition, those interested in becoming proficient, or learners who just want to gain the skills to make every presentation, speaking activity, or writing project better.   This workshop represents a partnership between the NDPMA speech and debate teams and the Eastern Michigan University Forensics team members and coordinators to offer the opportunity to our community.  Lunch will be provided daily and students will get a camp t-shirt.  NDP Congressional Debate and Public Forum team members will work directly with their respective coaches on tournament prep for the season, primarily in the afternoons, and skill-building in the mornings.  For active competitors, camp personnel would be happy to coordinate with your coach to begin selection and prep of a new piece for the upcoming school year.
 
Razor's Edge Camp
Age/Grade: Grades 8 - 12
Date/Time: July 24 - 28, 2023, By virtual appointment

About: Have you already participated in EDGEcamp twice and want an opportunity to sharpen your skills for the competition season even more?  Are you ready for the MasterClass?!  Consider Razor's EDGE.  The same camp coaches will provide customized, intensive, advanced training with your needs in mind.  Consider it personalized coaching to excel in one area or event.  Choose from Congress, Interp, Public Address, or Public Forum Debate OR opt in for all four to do "next level" work every day.  It's the fun environment of camp tailored just for you.  Each session begins with a virtual meeting with the coach prior to camp to set goals and select topic/content material.  Get ready for focused work with a small cohort or individual coaching expertise.  The Friday showcase is optional. Middle School 101
Age/Grade: Grade 6 or new to Notre Dame Middle School
Date/Time: Session 1: August 7 - 9, 2023, 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Where: NDMS classroom D8/D11
About: Any new student enrolled into Notre Dame Middle School—6th, 7th or 8th grade—is welcome to attend this camp. The purpose of the workshop is to provide interactive, hands-on experiences to allow students to socialize with each other, to begin making friends, and to provide organizational strategies to middle school. Furthermore, students will practice their locker combination, learn to navigate the campus, and enjoy some time together in a fun and relaxed setting.
 
Youth STEM Tech Camp
Age/Grade: Grades 4 - 7
Date/Time: July 17 - 21, 2023, 9am - 12pm
Fee: $250
Where: Robotics Lab
About: This STEM-infused tech camp will offer programming a micro-computer, coding a video game, managing a cybersecurity threat, understanding digital citizenship, developing code to solve puzzles, and other STEM activities. Campers will be engaged to think critically, solve problems effectively, and collaborate in a fun creative and enjoyable learning environment. Each learner will receive and keep their own pocket-sized micro-computer that allows them to get creative with digital technology to help them develop an interest in programming, engineering, or other related STEM fields – even after the camp. No prior technical skills required.
 
EmpowerED Camp
Age/Grade: Grades 6 - 10
Date/Time: July 10 - 13, 2023, 9:00am - 12:00pm

About: Sometimes classes, virtual learning, and life can be overwhelming and it's hard to figure out what to do next.  EmpowerED Camp can provide a lifeline.  With this camp, you can learn ANYTHING you choose -- it's the WAY we learn that is the material of camp.  We will talk about organizing yourself, your time, your materials, even your computer.  Learn features that are already in the programs you use everyday that can create a "playlist" of homework assignments, reminders, or items to study for a test in seconds, with accessibility anytime, anywhere.  Before you throw in the towel, power up your learning, recharge your energy, and make it to the finish line in record time.
 
LEGO Explorer Camp
Age/Grade: Grades 1 - 4
Date/Time: June 26 - 29, 2023, 10am - 12pm

Where: Lower Division Classroom
About: More than toys, LEGO building blocks are a doorway to mathematics, science, and technology.  They’re also a BLAST to play with, providing endless possibilities for creativity.  We will explore creativity options with blocks, then work with Jr FIRST LEGO League Simple Machines kits to explore some key scientific models like levers, pulleys, and gears.  Our young builders will be on their way to JrFLL participation in the upcoming competition season or just have some great hands-on opportunities to learn some basic engineering … and imagineering.

Notre Dame Summer Camp FAQ

Where is camp located?

Camp is held on Notre Dame’s beautiful campus located at 1300 Giddings Road in Pontiac, Michigan. Check camp description for specific building and room/venue location.

Do I have to be a Notre Dame student to attend camp?

No! All kids from near and far are welcome to attend any of Notre Dame’s summer camps.

What happens if my child can only attend for part of the scheduled camp time?

No problem. Be sure to let the camp leader know if your child’s schedule will be different from the scheduled camp days and times. Camps are not prorated.

Will my child be supervised?

Each camp is supervised and led by a Notre Dame teacher, coach or faculty member and their staff. Current students may also help monitor. In addition, security is on campus for the entire summer camp experience.

How do I register my child?

You can conveniently register for summer camp through our online registration management system. 

Do I need to purchase an Active membership to register my child for summer camp?

No. You will need to set up a free account through the Active online registration management system, but you will not need to purchase an Active membership.

Will my child get a t-shirt?

Some camps offer a t-shirt to go along with summer camp. 

How do I cancel my child's registration?

In the event you need to cancel your child's registration, please contact Maureen Radulski at mradulski@ndpma.org. All cancellations are assessed a 50% cancellation fee.

Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy's youth summer camps will soon be here on campus. And this year, Notre Dame's summer program is bigger and more diverse than ever before and parent/student interest is expected to be high. So it's time now to sign up to ensure your children get a spot in the camp of their choice.

As one of the area's most recognized programs, ND's summer camps curriculum provides safe, fun, and skill-focused experiences for kids entering grades kindergarten through 12. This year's lineup includes a variety of both athletic and academic camps. Camps range offer instruction for all skill levels, from introductory to advanced. All camps are run by NDP faculty members or NDP coaches.

Notre Dame has been providing quality and fun-filled summer-camp experiences for more than 15 years and maintains a proven safety track record. Under the expert care of our camp coaches, kids not only learn individual, sport-oriented or creative skills, but also develop personally and socially, learning teamwork and building life skills through interaction with fellow campers.

Register now! Great camps get cancelled because too many parents wait until the last minute to register. Keep in mind our cancellation policy – A fee of 50% of the camp cost will be assessed for any cancellations. No paper registrations accepted.

A WORD ON CONCUSSIONS
With increased awareness about the risks of concussions, Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy has chosen to follow the MHSAA concussion protocol for suspected head injuries that occur during our camps. We ask that all parents and participants review the information regarding concussions (Click here) prior to attending any of our camps.
