Shadow at Notre Dame

We want YOU … to shadow at Notre Dame Prep! If you’re entering grade 6 or higher, we’d love for you to be Irish for a Day. If you’re an applicant to our lower school, you’ll have a Visit Day scheduled for you at the end of the admission process. (Visit Days also include math and reading assessments and student-parent interview, as applicable.)

You can schedule your shadow day beginning September 11, 2023, and ending May 15, 2024.

NDP offers two types of shadow days:

1. Irish for a Day (7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.) - open to students entering grades 6 through 11
We’ll match you with a great host, and give you the opportunity to experience four academic periods, Community Time, and lunch. See the “Scheduling” note below for information on requesting your shadow day.

2. Lucky Day (8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.) – open to students entering 9^th grade only
If you’d like to have an extra-special shadow experience at NDP, you should join us for a Lucky Day. Current 8^th graders can choose one of three fall Lucky Days, and current 7^th graders can join us for a Lucky Day in April. On a Lucky Day, you’ll have a special welcome and sendoff, and in between will see three academic periods, eat lunch, and get to participate in a scavenger hunt with the help of your host. Space is limited. Click on the desired date below to register.

Tuesday, 11/7/23 – registration full
Friday, 4/19/24 – current 7^th grade students only

SCHEDULING
Irish for a Day shadow visits are requested through your checklist in your MyNotreDame* parent portal. Click on the button to “Schedule a Visit,” and select your preferred date. Once confirmed, you’ll receive an email confirmation. Additionally, a member of NDP’s Admissions staff will contact you to learn more about your child and answer any questions you may have.

NOTES FOR PARENTS

Notre Dame respectfully asks that you submit your shadow request at least two school days in advance in order to help us properly prepare to welcome your child.
If your child has been ill or has a high temperature/fever, please do not send him/her to school. Contact our Office of Admissions (248-373-1061 / admissions@ndpma.org) to notify us and to reschedule.
