About
Our 100-acre campus was built as Pontiac Catholic High School in 1968 when two local schools, St. Michael and St. Frederick, merged. In 1988, the school was renamed Oakland Catholic High School but closed in 1994. Adam Cardinal Maida, archbishop of Detroit, invited the Marist Fathers to sponsor a new school that same year. Twenty-five years later, Notre Dame boasts a thousand students from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.
We are proud to carry on the legacy of our heritage schools. In 2019, the Notre Dame Alumni Association introduced five chapters to recognize alumni from Notre Dame Harper Woods, Oakland Catholic, Pontiac Catholic, St. Frederick and St. Michael.
