Universities and colleges throughout the country recognize ISACS accreditation, and ISACS is recognized by the College Board as an accrediting body for secondary schools located primarily in the Midwest region.

The Independent Schools Association of the Central States' accreditation review committee has reviewed and accepted NDPMA's response to its recommendations after last year's evaluation, and determined that the school continues to be a fully accredited member school in good standing.

According to ISACS, Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy has met all ISACS Standards for Membership, which included a comprehensive and thorough self-study in which all aspects of the school’s program and practices have been disclosed and reviewed, and a visit by a team consisting of ISACS peer teachers and administrators for the purpose of observing congruence between mission and program.

Head of School Andy Guest thanked the school's ISACS steering committee and said it's still another positive step in both the school's history and future.

"ISACS visited us last November and evaluated the school on two primary factors: adherence to mission (Are we who we purport to be?) and adherence to ISACS standards," said Guest. "During the visit, the team examined every aspect of the school from governance to curriculum, culture, athletics, arts, facilities, advancement and business operations."

Guest notes that much of the overall success of the school over the years can be attributed to the continuous improvement process undertaken with ISACS.

"They challenge us to be the best version of our mission that we can be," he said. "But while we are proud of what the school has accomplished over the years, we recognize that none of this would be possible without the grace of Our Mother, Mary, who continues to watch over and guide our Catholic, Marist school."

Founded in 1908, ISACS is a membership organization of more than 240 independent schools from 13 states in the U.S. Midwest region. Notre Dame has been ISACS-accredited since the school opened in 1994 and shares such accreditation with Cranbrook, Country Day, Grosse Pointe Academy and The Roeper School.
