Choir

Notre Dame Preparatory School and Marist Academy has a vibrant vocal music program with many opportunities for students to explore and develop their talent.

Students in the lower school help with worship by providing music during regular school Masses. They are also able to receive formal choral training in the third, fourth and fifth grade choirs.

Students in the middle school have the option to take choir as well as an option to be part of the annual middle school musical.

Preparatory school students have a variety of experiences available to them. The Women’s Chorus and Irishmen (an all-male ensemble) are open to anyone wishing to develop their skills. For those students with more interest, two auditioned groups are available—the Honors Chamber Choir and the Praise and Worship Ensemble.

The middle and upper division choirs have a history of excellent and superior ratings at Michigan School Vocal Music Association’s (MSVMA) district and state festivals. Notre Dame’s choirs have traveled to Chicago, New York and Hawaii and have performed at Carnegie Hall, one of the country’s most prestigious stages.
