Philanthropy at Notre Dame during COVID-19
Fr. Jean-Claude Colin, the founder of the Marist Fathers and Brothers, was called to open schools across France and as far as the South Pacific two hundred years ago. He quietly advocated for what his priests needed to do their missionary work. Today, Notre Dame does something similar when we ask alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends to support our annual appeal.
We rely upon only a few revenue sources. Tuition covers 80 percent of the school’s annual expenses. The Board of Trustees sets tuition intentionally below cost each year to keep a Notre Dame education affordable for as many families as possible.
Other revenue streams bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of a Catholic education. While comparable schools draw on an endowment, our endowment is relatively small which is why we ask our community to support our annual appeal.
An Annual Appeal for Students and Teachers
Donors may choose among one, two or three different funds in our annual appeal. Each fund benefits the very heart of our Marist school—a place where students learn how to follow Christ as Mary did and become responsible citizens.
No matter the amount you choose, your gift will make an everyday moment come true at Notre Dame.
